Cork College of Commerce plays host this term to sixteen students, and their accompanying teachers, from five EU countries: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, and The Netherlands.
Belgium
Four business students from the Robert Schuman Institut, along with two teachers, are on work placement here from the 8th to the 29th of March. Students from this college, a college of approximately 850 students in Eupen, Belgium, have been coming to Cork for the past three years. This is the first year we have also sent students from Cork.
Germany
Two business studies students from Stadtische Robert Bosch, Munich in Germany, will be on placement here from the 21st of April to the 9th of May. This is the third year of exchanges between Cork and Munich and has been very effective - one of the twenty-one other schools across seventeen European countries that Stadtische Robert Bosch is involved with.
Finland
One student from Finland will be on placement with Enable Ireland from the 2nd of April to the 29th. A large college in Finland, with up to five thousand students, The Joint Authority of Education in Espoo Retion/Omnia Vocational College, Espoon Kaupunki, has successfully exchanged childcare, healthcare and beauty therapy students and teachers with us here in Cork.
Denmark
Four students from health care studies in Denmark will be on placement here from the 31st of March to the 4th of May. Arriving from the SOSU education system in Denmark, a long term partner with Cork, the partnership has been very successful in health care expertise and enables students to experience best practice in transnational mobility.
The Netherlands
Seven students from the Netherlands will be on placement here in primary schools from the 10th of April to the 2nd of June. They come to us from the Deltion College in the Netherlands. This partner focuses on childcare placements. It is a much larger College than our own and especially benefits our own students of CACHE childcare.
